Float Glass Sheets

Float glass sheets are divided into transparent float glass sheet, tinted float glass, coated (reflective) float glass, ultra clear float glass, and LOW-E float glass. Floatation is a processing method for glass, and we adopt this method mainly because the float process has the following advantages.

• Float glass is produced by floating the glass on the surface of the tin solution in a tin bath. Therefore, this type of glass has good flatness and no water ripples.
• Float glass has good flatness, so it can better reflect patterns without distortion when used for making silver mirrors, aluminum mirrors, and copper free mirrors.
• The mineral quartz sand used for float glass is of good quality. The glass produced is pure and has good transparency. There is no glass rash, bubbles, impurities.
• Clear (transparent) float glass sheet used for window and door.
• Tinted float glass includes: bronze glass, blue glass, dark blue glass, gray glass, dark grey glass, black , ford blue glass, F green glass, A green glass, pink, brown, crystal gray glass, crystal blue glass.
• Reflective float glass sheet is a kind of solar coating glass made on titned glass.
• Ultra white float glass has better light transmittance than clear glass.
• Low-e float glass is Low Emissty GIass, It is an energy-saving and environmentally friendly glass.

The production process of float glass is completed in a tin bath filled with protective gases (such as nitrogen and hydrogen). In this process, molten glass flows continuously from the melting furnace into the tin bath and floats on the surface of the relatively dense tin liquid. Under the action of gravity and surface tension, the glass liquid spreads and flattens on the tin liquid surface to form a glass ribbon with smooth upper and lower surfaces. Subsequently, the glass ribbon is annealed and cut to finally become a float glass product.
