Precautions When Selecting Tempered Glass

Tempered glass is an important building material for building glass, and its safety has received increasing attention. Tempered glass used in construction belongs to building safety glass. Tempered glass is made from float glass as the original sheet, which is heated and cooled again. Compared with float glass and ordinary flat glass, its safety performance is significantly improved.

In the process of purchasing houses and building renovations, expansions, or renovations, it should be determined whether safety glass has been used in accordance with regulations to avoid personal injury and unnecessary property damage. Tempered glass can be identified by using a polarizer to observe whether there are stress spots, or by consulting professionals or relevant authoritative institutions for identification. When selecting building safety glass, the following points should be noted:

1. Tempered glass in buildings belongs to the mandatory CCC certification products of the country, and products of certified enterprises are labeled with 3C certification marks.
2. Check the appearance quality of the glass. Glass with bursting edges, scratches, and defects may cause cracking and decreased strength during use.
3. Measure whether the glass is bent too much, as excessively bent glass generates installation stress during or after installation, increasing the likelihood of cracking.
Inspect the quality of glass edge grinding. Tempered glass with high edge grinding quality has high strength and low self explosion rate.
